Christian Community Church is located in the town of Homer, AK, about 4 hours south of Anchorage. The church is led by Lead Pastor David Taylor who became the lead pastor about 15 years ago. The church currently has one Sunday morning service at 10:30a with Sunday School at 9:30a. This service offers a contemporary style of worship. Attendance currently runs around 175 (children and adults) each Sunday for their worship service.
With a mission of “Making Disciples who Make Disciples,” Christian Community Church (CCC)
is a non-denominational church located at the end of the road in beautiful Homer, Alaska. Administration at CCC is diversified through the Elder board for spiritual oversight, the Advisory board for operations management, and the Trustee board for property management. The Church Staff is comprised of the Lead Pastor, Associate Pastor, Treasurer, and Custodian. The Associate Pastoris a position that is a full-time salaried employee (40 hrs/wk) with accountability primarily to the Lead Pastor.
OBJECTIVES
The role of Associate Pastor is to oversee the administration of the church, share oversight and development of ministries and to lead the body in worship during the Sunday celebration service. A member of the Elder board and Advisory board, the Associate Pastor provides management of general church operations and helps to develop the vision and ministry of the church. As the worship leader, he provides oversight to the music and media ministries, leading the church in worship.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative Management
- Train and oversee office volunteers in administrative tasks
- Oversee communication, including the website, weekly bulletin, posters, and welcome packet
- Oversee operation and maintenance of computer and technology systems
- Oversee day to day church routines and special events
- Oversee the church calendar and use of the facility
- Ensure facility security and coordinate maintenance with Custodian and Trustee board
Ministry Oversight
- Partner with the Lead Pastor in executing the church vision and mission
- Assist in recruiting, training, supporting, and evaluating ministry leaders
- Development and growth of new and ongoing ministries
Worship Leadership
- Organize and lead worship, provide oversight and scheduling of the music and media ministries
- Work with the Lead Pastor regarding sermon topic, seasonal themes, and service style
- Lead regular rehearsals and training, recruit and train new musicians & media volunteers
- Expand and maintain music library and licensing requirements
- Oversee budget and expenditures, equipment and instrument operations and maintenance
General Responsibilities
- Lead a Life Group and a discipleship group
- Attend weekly staff meetings and monthly Elder meetings
- Prepare report and attend monthly Advisory board meeting and annual business meeting
- Participate in the annual planning meeting for ministry training, goals, and evaluation
- Shepherd the congregation and share teaching and preaching as needed and desired
- Participate in life and activities of church body
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional
- Bachelor degree, Master of Divinity preferred
- Three years of related work or ministry experience desired
- Alignment with CCC doctrinal statement, theological compatibility with Lead Pastor
- Gifted in administration, exhortation, pastoring/shepherding, and teaching
- Leadership and organizational skills with attention to detail and follow through
- Musically skilled and experienced in vocal and instrumental performance
- Proficient technology skills; familiar with media equipment
- Ability to teach and preach Gospel-centered, Christ-exalting exposition
- Ability to communicate well verbally and in written forms
- Team player, able to handle conflict in a professional manner

- Clear testimony of faith and devotion to Jesus Christ, His church, and His mission
